We got our itinerary this week and had a group conference call with our adoption agency. The most exciting news for us though was that we will be handed our daughter Grace on Sunday, September 6 in the afternoon. That means that when you are waking up on Sunday morning, we will have had our daughter for a few hours.  We also learned that because she is in Foster Care, the orphanage usually swings by the foster homes and picks up the babies before making the 2 1/2 hr drive to the hotel where our group is staying. That's going to make for an exhausting day for Grace to be shuttled from person to person to person and not getting her nap in the process.  We'd appreciate your prayers concerning her transition on this day.

This big day in the adoption community actually has a name -- it's called GOTCHA DAY.  Many people have tried to rename it and come up with something that sounds a little less. . .shall we say. . .crude.  But when it comes down to it, this is our moment when we can finally say "Gotcha!" Or if you want to hear the real words, "We've got you sweetheart. You'll never be alone again because you're part of our family now. You actually have been part of our family since before you were even conceived because you've been in our hearts and in our prayers since before then. And most assuredly, God's perfect plans included that  you be part of our family. Yes, dear Grace, we've got ya and we're never ever going to let go!"
